Substance Abuse Counselor I - Vandalia, MO

Substance Abuse Counselors are responsible for:
Completing comprehensive assessments of clients' substance use history and treatment requirements, and developing individualized treatment plans
Providing individual and group counseling and facilitating didactic groups
Documenting treatment and discharge plans, clients' progress and responses to treatment; and maintaining related records and charts
Performing case management and contributing to client care monitoring
Other duties as assigned
Requirements? Requirements
Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field a plus
6 months of previous experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling in a corrections environment preferred
Current Missouri Credentialing Board credential, or ability to obtain a credential as a Missouri Associate Alcohol Drug Counselor (MAADC I/II) 60 days after hire
Must be able to obtain Missouri Department of Corrections clearance

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
